Phil-Lu Incorporated was incepted In 1968 for the development of new products, devices and technology for the medical industry. Its founders and officers are Lucllle A. Petlllo, President and C.E.O. of P.L.I, with her B.S. and M.S. In Technology Assessment and Research. Phlllip J. Petillo. Ph.D. in engineering technology and winner of the 1992 New Jersey Pride Award for Science and Technology for his work in Microsurgical Instrumentation. Dr. Petillo's specialties are conceptual development, new product development, engineering, and problem solving. We perform all development from conception to finished products in house, in very confidential and secure laboratories. Over the years, we have discovered many ways to assist our clients at all levels of development to mass marketing production assistance.
To gain objectivity, avoid undue staff pressures and bring special skills to bear... Over the last 30 years or so, as a practicing engineer and product developer, we have seen many companies, large and small miss their share in a specific market. Sometimes, a consumer product company comes to us with a "Can you develop?" which is evaluated and a complete, concise report and opinion is given. P.L.I. then develops the technology and product for the client along with all support engineering meeting costs and performance targets. P.L.I. has on the premises all equipment and facilities to complete client's projects in-house. We supply finished prototypes, all drawings, and complete specifications to our clients, and if necessary outside manufacturing and assembly from very competent companies which we have used in past product manufacturing.

We are experts in interpreting verbal, written, and sketches, ideas and needs into workable, useful products. Ensuring A Sound Product Base... P.L.I operates in several ways. One way is an hourly rate. Another is working off a retainer. Still another is "Share the Risk." This is where we fund half and our client funds the other half. If patents/Trademarks, and/or Copyrights are granted, we would receive a royalty. If no patents are granted, royalties are paid to P.L.I. for 3 years. If we fund half, we would share the equity with our 9 marketing colleagues. None of the funding methods are rigid, we try to remain as flexible as we possibly can. We can always arrive at a mutually agreeable arrangement. We have been in business since 1968, we always extend ourselves to satisfy our clients' product needs while striving to bring uniqueness and innovation to our clients. Over this 27 year trek, we have worked for numerous companies developing various products, services, and methods for them.
